Biography: 

Abigail Lord-Ramsey is the Director of Fund Development for Anuvia. Ms. Lord-Ramsey has more than 14 years of advancement experience, and six years of experience in senior level advancement. Ms. Lord-Ramsey is a native of Florida, and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in business administration at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina. After working in the advancement field for nearly a decade, she furthered her education by earning her Master’s Degree in Philanthropic Studies at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She began her career in philanthropy and advancement in higher education at her alma mater, Lees-McRae College. After serving as the Director of Donor Relations for Special Events for five years, she transitioned to the office of advancement as a Development Officer. Ms. Lord-Ramsey took another step in career development in 2012 when she accepted the position of Director of Development at a nearby child welfare agency called Grandfather Home for Children. In 2014, Grandfather Home for Children merged with another children’s agency to form Children’s Hope Alliance. Shortly after the merger, Ms. Lord-Ramsey was promoted to the Chief Development Officer. While in that position, she has managed a team of up to 17 staff members, while overseeing all fundraising, marketing, communications, and grant applications for the statewide agency. After serving seven years as Children’s Hope Alliance CDO, she furthered her expansion to build and grow a fund development platform for Anuvia and accepted the position of Director of Fund Development in September 2018.

Ms. Lord-Ramsey is involved with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Women’s Impact Fund, Good Friends, and is in the Kiwanis club in Charlotte, North Carolina. She had served on the High Country Chapter of the American Red Cross’ Board of Directors, Avery County Chamber Board of Directors, and was involved in several other professional organizations including Avery and Watauga County Leadership Groups before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Ms. Lord-Ramsey is a highly experienced and dedicated fundraising and development executive. She has a proven record of successful fundraising, development management, and donor and community engagement. She is adept working with a wide variety of demographics to formulate beneficial development programs and in facilitating creative problem solving. She is also comfortable using several fundraising strategies and is a Fellow in Charitable Estate Planning with the Charitable Estate Planning Institute.
